Welcome to our little slice of heaven, where love is loud, faith is steady, and family is something God lovingly stitches together—sometimes in ways we never expected. Our home is full of kids, goats, memories, and miracles, and every one of them has shaped who we are today.
I’m Mimi—“Mom” in all the ways that matter—and God has entrusted me with two incredible kids to raise and nurture. They may call me Mimi, but my heart knows I’m their mother, their safe place, and their biggest cheerleader. And woven into our family story is someone forever precious to us: Addison. Though she is no longer here with us, her life changed ours in ways time will never take away. Her memory lives in our laughter, our stories, and the quiet moments when we feel God’s comfort wrap around us. She is part of our beginning, our becoming, and the tenderness that shaped the love we give today.
Out here on the farm, family comes with both two legs and four. Our goats—each with their own personalities and God-given purpose—have been companions, teachers, and unexpected healers on this journey. They’ve seen our heartbreak and our joy, and somehow they’ve helped us mend pieces of ourselves we didn’t know were broken.
This space is where you’ll meet the ones who give my days meaning: my kids who test my patience and fill my heart with joy, the memory of a little girl who will always hold a place in our hearts, the herd that has walked alongside our healing, and the husband whose steady presence anchors it all.

Every family is different, and ours is no exception. What binds us together isn’t bloodlines or labels—it’s love, choice, and the commitment to walk through life side by side. Our family was built through faith, guardianship, loss, laughter, and the everyday decision to show up for one another.
Each of us brings something special to this home. Different personalities, different stories, one shared foundation of love, grace, and resilience. This page is an invitation to meet the people who make our family what it is, simply imperfect, growing, and deeply connected.
Doug and Amber
Also known as Mimi and Papa. Partners in life, faith, family and chaos and the family God has entrusted to us.
Married in 1998, a forever and severak lifetimes ago. Battle scars seared from so much grief, struggles and chaos in which anyone could possibly survive. But beauty glowing with Grace from incredible love, faith and laughter, more than we could ever deserve.
Doug is steady, hardworking and deeply rooted in values that simply will not waver. A man who perfects quiet strength, showing up and doing the work.
I am the heart, storyteller, nurturer, circus ringleader and mostly the one who finds God's fingerprints in everyday moments. My Grace filled beautiful life has been shaped by loss, love, redemption and restoration. I have uncovered how healing comes through unlikely places...goats. children and lovely surrender.
Together we have built a life that is simply simple but intriquely unique all in the same breath. We are raising children, tending animals, managing chaos and learning every day what it means to lean in and trust God. Our home is a place where Grace, growth and imperfect faith are as welcome as muddy boots.
This blog is an extension of our lives. Sometimes hilarious with moments of painful raw emtion. It is where faith in ourselves, each other and our Lord meets real life. Where our family stories are honered amd where hope and Grace are planted each and every day.
Brenton
Also known as B the Great. He came into our lives during a time where we learning how to hold grief and hope all in the same hand, same breath, same moment. Where there was deep sorrow, there was new purpose, new breath and new love.
Though Brenton is our grandson by blood or heart, he is ours in every way that matters. We are raising him, guiding him and loving him.
Brenton is deeply curious and full of life and heart. He carries a bright light that fills our family with laughter, motion, questions and wonderful wonder.
His story in not built on replacement but of continuation. Not of rejection, but of belonging. A living, breathing testament that love expands, hearts stretch and God will always write beautiful chapters.
He enjoys taking care of his rabbits, playing Rubix cubes as well as his flute. He loves games of any kind and his currently working on his own blog.
Brooklyn
Also known as Boo. She is a strong, courageous and steady presence in our home. Who has taken her "Brooklyn-ness and not only turned it into a verb but an art form. With a soul both gentle and intense, thoughtful beyond her years and deeply rooted in love. Her young life, like so many others has been shaped by change, but she carries it with grace, resilence and wisdom that speaks at times without being loud. Okay, well she tries not to be so loud.
Though she is our granddaughter by birth, she is ours by calling. We are raising her, walking beside her, and loving her intentionally every day. Titles may vary, but the truth remains simple: she belongs here, fully and completely. Our family is built on commitment, not biology, and Brooklyn is a beautiful reflection of that truth.
She brings balance to our home—where others are loud, she is observant; where life feels rushed, she reminds us to slow down. Her compassion runs deep, and her heart is naturally drawn toward care, creativity, and connection. She has a way of seeing the world that feels both tender and brave.
Brooklyn’s story is one of belonging. Of being chosen, cherished, and deeply loved. She reminds us that family is not something you’re born into alone—it’s something that is built, protected, and nurtured with intention and faith.
Brooklyn enjoys taking care of her rabbits and goats and is avidly working on convincing her Mimi and Papa to get her a horse. She loves music, singing and dancing and playing softball.
